The holiday season in all of its magic begins when The Light Before Christmas opens in the Riverside IMAX Theater at the Virginia Air & Space Center beginning November 27, 2008. This stunning stop-motion animated film is a celebration of wonder and discovery where two curious children learn the meaning of Christmas in the most unexpected way.

After losing their way on a cold, blustery Christmas Eve two children, Katie and Makean are rescued by their friend, The Candleman, a mystic old gentleman who offers wisdom, hot chocolate and stories. Knowing a little holiday magic will raise the children's spirits, The Candleman opens a weathered book and begins to read the classic tale, "The Night Before Christmas." Magically, Katie and Makean find themselves transported into the enchanted poem, where they experience the wonder and delight of Santa's visit to their home. The IMAX screen combined with the computer generated imaging and stop-motion photography allows you to experience the magic of Santa and his eight tiny reindeer like never before!
